One of the most frightening situations for a pet owner to face is the untimely injury or illness of a beloved family pet. Many times, these situations occur during hours when the family veterinarian is unavailable during weeknights, weekends, holidays or during the daytime hours when your regular veterinarian may be unavailable. The Animal Emergency & Pet Care Clinic of the High Country, PLLC is a facility specially equipped to handle the urgent care needs of pets on a 24-hour basis as well as providing routine health care services. Located in Boone, NC, this regional referral center serves pets and their owners in the North Carolina and Tennessee mountain communities.
The clinic is staffed and equipped to handle any small animal emergency situation. Patients may also be transferred from regular hospitals to the emergency clinic for overnight observation if your veterinarian feels that supervision is necessary. Owners whose pets are admitted by the emergency service are given the option of remaining hospitalized at our facility or transferring to your regular veterinarian if further care is necessary.
Appointments are not necessary for incoming emergencies, however, phone calls in advance will allow our staff time to prepare for your arrival. Every effort will be made to see your pet as soon as possible, but please be aware that emergencies will be seen in order of severity. For those pet owners who are looking for a regular veterinarian to provide quality medical care, we also offer routine services during weekday hours from 8AM - 6PM. These procedures include vaccinations, spays, neuters, dental care and all other medical and surgical services as well as a full selection of heartworm preventatives and flea and tick control medications. Staff clinicians are affiliated with the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society.
